Kaká: “El Real Madrid va a ser el equipo protagonista en España y en Europa”

La selección brasileña se encuentra concentrada en Recife. En pocos días partirán a Sudáfrica, para participar en la Copa Confederaciones en la que también participa España. Durante la concentración, Kaká hizo su primera aparición ante los medios de comunicación como jugador del Real Madrid. El primer fichaje de Florentino Pérez en su segunda etapa destacó “el proyecto deportivo del Real Madrid”, el de “un equipo protagonista en Europa y en España”. Dijo que esta etapa le resultaba muy “motivante” y “un reto”. Destacó a “futbolistas históricos, como Raúl o Casillas”. También tuvo palabras de agradecimiento para el Milán.

El brasileño aprovechó para, antes de hablar de su nueva etapa, agradecer a su antiguo Club el comportamiento mostrado durante años: “Desde mi llegada a Milán hasta mi salida, el comportamiento del club fue excelente. Siempre fueron claros conmigo. Estoy agradecido y tengo una relación de honestidad con ellos. Sólo me planteé jugar en el Real Madrid al salir de Milán. Los casos de Manchester City y Real Madrid son muy diferentes. Son dos clubes históricamente diferentes. El City hizo una oferta mediada la temporada. La afición se movilizó por mí y decidí quedarme. La puerta del Real Madrid es distinta. Era una oferta deportiva muy interesante y una gran motivación en un gran Club”.

“Espero ganar títulos con el Real Madrid, por encima de los premios individuales. El reto del Real Madrid es muy bonito, vamos a volver a ganar títulos”, dijo un hombre cuyo juego ayuda a hacer un equipo. “El proyecto deportivo del Real Madrid es muy importante; va a ser el equipo protagonista en España y Europa. Tiene jugadores históricos como Raúl o Casillas. Estoy orgulloso de pertenecer a un equipo que va a luchar por ganar en España y Europa”, contestó para referirse a lo que le llevó a aceptar la oferta blanca. También comentó lo diferente que es el comienzo de esta nueva etapa a sus inicios en Italia: “Llego al Real Madrid en una situación diferente a la que viví cuando llegué al Milán. Tengo unas responsabilidades diferentes. Va a ser una experiencia nueva y una gran motivación. Algo que te anima a levantarte y entrenar cada día. Va a ser un desafío importante”.

Kaká desveló que pidió consejo a algunos ex jugadores del Real Madrid: “He hablado con varios jugadores que han pasado por el Real Madrid, como David Beckham. Todos me han dicho que se trata de un club maravilloso y de una ciudad preciosa y que jugar en el Real Madrid es una gran experiencia. Beckham me ha ayudado mucho y me ha dicho cosas muy positivas, como que influiría muy positivamente en mi crecimiento futbolístico”. También habló de las comparaciones que le hacen con otro hombre que también ganó, como él, el Balón de Oro, el Mundial o la Copa de Europa: “Agradezco las comparaciones con Zidane, es un hombre que ha marcado historia. Es un gran referente para mí. Voy a intentar hacer historia en el Club como hizo él”

“Tras el anuncio, estoy mucho más tranquilo. Las negociaciones no han influido nada en mi juego con la selección. Estoy concentrado con la selección con el único objetivo de ganar la Copa Confederaciones”, respondió cuando le preguntaron si su buen partido con la selección se debía a su nuevo compromiso. También le preguntaron si volverá a ser proclamado mejor jugador del mundo en su nueva etapa como madridista: “Hay varios jugadores favoritos para ser elegidos como el mejor, pero espero que la hegemonía del Barcelona acabe. Estoy seguro de que el Real Madrid va a hacer un equipo muy competitivo a la altura de la historia del Club”.

Slayer

Prior to the new album release, SLAYER will join forces with MEGADETH to perform together for the first time in more than 15 years when they co-headline four shows in Canada in late June. The tour, dubbed “Canadian Carnage”, will also feature MACHINE HEAD and SUICIDE SILENCE, and will see MEGADETH and SLAYER each closing two of the four shows. SLAYER will also co-headline with MARILYN MANSON on the five-week Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, set to kick off July 10 in Sacramento, California.

On May 19, BLABBERMOUTH.NET spoke to SLAYER guitarist Kerry King about the band’s new CD and their upcoming touring activities. Highlights of that conversation follow below.

On the status of the new album recording sessions:

Kerry: “Probably today was the last day for touch-ups. The longer you let that go on, you can keep fixing it forever; you’ve just gotta cut the line at one point and say, ‘We’re done.’ But I think Tom [Araya] finishes up vocals today, and then it’s just gotta get mixed.”

On whether producer Greg Fidelman is going to be mixing the album as well:

Kerry: “To my knowledge, I think he’s doing it. I don’t always pay attention to that. But I haven’t heard anything to the contrary, so I would imagine, yeah.”

On Greg Fidelman being a somewhat odd choice for a producer considering that a lot of fans seem to blame him for the distorted sound on METALLICA‘s “Death Magnetic” album:

Kerry: “I would never do that because — no offense to him or METALLICA — but it’s not Greg‘s fault for the last 15 years of METALLICA. I think he made a decent record with them. I think ‘Death Magnetic’ is pretty cool. I mean, It’s not the glory of the ’80s, but it’s better than ‘St. Anger’, you know what I mean?! You’re dealing with hard-headed dudes. We’re the same way. When you’re in the business for as long as us and them [METALLICA] are, you don’t always [listen to] everybody’s opinion; you’ve kind of got your own opinion. I blame everybody, not just him. [Laughs]“

On the songwriting/recording process for the new album:

Kerry: “We were over-ready [when we recorded 2006's 'Christ Illusion']. My songs [for the new album] came together since the middle of January — that was super-fast. I [attended] the NAMM show in the middle of January [2009], the big trade show out here [in California]. I might have had some riffs [at that point], but I had no songs. So everything I’ve done [songwriting-wise] has been put together since then. And this time when we went into the studio, we were, like, under-ready, because there were songs that hadn’t even been finished, so we actually had to teach Dave [Lombardo; drums] some of them in the studio, which is totally unique for us. When you do it like that, you risk songs sounding the same and vocal ideas being similar, but I think everything sounds really different. . . [We did it that way because] we had a window of time that we secured Greg Fidelman [for and] we wanted to keep that happening, so after the NAMM show came around, I went, ‘Shit, I’d better get some fuckin’ songs happening.’ So I got off my ass and really worked at it.”

On how he would describe the new material:

Kerry: “I think ‘Christ Illusion’ and ‘God Hates Us All’ [2001] were compared to faster records like ‘Reign In Blood’ [1986]. I think this one, when it’s all said and done, will be compared to ‘Seasons In The Abyss’ [1990], because I think ‘Seasons’ was a little bit of everything, as far as SLAYER goes. I think this one has a little bit of everything — more so than anything we’ve done since ‘Seasons’. So I would imagine people are gonna compare it to that one.”

On how the songwriting is split between him and fellow guitarist Jeff Hanneman this time around:

Kerry: “I don’t know which songs… We’ve got 13 songs. I don’t even know if they’re all done, it’s been such a hectic recording thing, but musically I wrote six and he wrote seven. It’s about as down the middle as you can get.”

“I think, as a general description [I tend to write the faster stuff and Jeff comes up with the moodier material], but that’s not to say that Jeff won’t write fast and I won’t write slow, but generally I’m the fast, thrashier dude and Jeff‘s definitely the more moodier guy, but trail off into each one’s domain every once in a while.”

“I think everything [Jeff's] done came up at least since November. Because we did those first three songs [including 'Psychopathy Red'] in October and those were all his. I don’t know if he’s worked just since January like I have. I would imagine he probably worked a little earlier than that.”

On why not all 13 songs that are being recorded will make it to the finished album:

Kerry: “I got out of that mindset that was popular in the ’90s when everybody put as much material on CDs as would fit. I just think that’s a waste of time, and I think it’s a waste of song ideas, because everybody I’ve ever heard do that, maybe two or three songs are good and the rest is just filler. All my favorite records from whan I was growing up had 10 songs tops, and they’re all kick-ass, so I just [think back to] how I perceived records as when I was a fan.”

Alessandro Nesta se encuentra más fuerte que nunca. Luego de haber pasado por varias cirugías en su espalda, que le dejaron marginado de toda la temporada, el defensa del Milan se encargó de asegurar que volverá a los campos de juego y que ni piensa en el retiro del fútbol.

“¿Que yo me voy a retirar? Eso es palabrería barata y yo me voy a encargar de probarlo“

“Estoy convencido de que volveré a jugar. Si no es la temporada que viene, será la siguiente y así sucesivamente”, aseguró el central.

El experimentado defensa regresó a las prácticas junto al resto de sus compañeros y ha participado de un mini partido contra jugadores de las divisiones inferiores del club lombardo.

Kaká no acertó ante la meta del Udinese y el Milan dio el título a su gran enemigo Inter

El pinchazo del eterno rival lombardo ha propiciado que medio Milán enloquezca de alegría. El Inter se ha proclamado campeón matemático de la Serie A por decimoséptima vez en su historia sin saltar al campo, tan sólo esperando la derrota del Milan en su visita al campo del Udinese. Los de Carlo Ancelotti se quedan a siete puntos de sus ‘vecinos’, cuando ya sólo pueden conseguir seis. Triste retirada para su capitán, Paolo Maldini, en su aparición 900.

El Siena tendrá el honor de hacer el primer pasillo de campeón al Inter en San Siro, mañana a las 15.00 horas. Ya no importará el resultado después de que el Milan se borrara de la lucha por el ‘Scudetto’ con su incontestable derrota en el Estadio Friuli. Dominó territorialmente al Udinese pero prácticamente ni inquietó a Handanovic. Tan sólo Ambrosini acertó a batir al meta local en los últimos minutos, pero D’Agostino -de penalty- y Zapata habían puesto en franquicia a los locales.

Ancelotti dejó a Gattuso, Pippo Inzaghi y Ronaldinho en el banquillo de salida y sólo recurrió a los dos últimos en los primeros minutos de la segunda parte, cuando vio que el Udinese se escapaba en el marcador. Demasiado tarde, puesto que los de Udine acabaron por hundir al conjunto ‘rossonero’, que al menos este año logrará el pasaporte a la Champions, cosa que no logró la temporada anterior.

En el otro partido adelantado de la trigesimosexta jornada de la Serie A, la Roma se impuso al Catania por un espectacular 4-3. Aunque los romanos se fueron al descanso con un claro 3-1 -dos goles de Perrotta y uno de Vucinic, por uno de Tedesco para el Catania-, los visitantes lograron igualar el marcador en la segunda parte con los tantos de Mascara y Morimoto. Sin embargo, Christian Panucci desniveló definitivamente el marcador en tiempo añadido. Los de Spalletti siguen luchando por meterse en competiciones europeas.

El Villarreal vence al Real Madrid (3-2) con goles de Pires, Cani y Capdevila, mientras que Van der Vaart e Higuaín tratarón de reducir las diferencias. Con esta derrota de los merengues, el Barcelona se convierte en el campeón de la Liga 2008/09.

El FC Barcelona obtuvo el título de campeón de la Liga 2008-2009, la 19ª en su cuenta particular, gracias a la emocionante victoria del Villarreal ante el Real Madrid en el campo del Madrigal, por lo que el domingo saltará al terreno de juego en Mallorca como campeón.

El Villarreal, que necesitaba ganar con urgencia en su lucha por alcanzar los puestos de Liga de Campeones, lo logró con mucho sufrimiento y a pesar de recibir el empate a dos en el minuto 88. Uno después, llegó el 3-2 de Capdevila.

El marcador lo abrió Pires con un cabezazo imparable tras pase de Ibagaza a los 17 minutos de juego. El devenir del primer tiempo fue un Real Madrid al que le sobraba el balón y le faltaba claridad en el ataque, mientras que el Villarreal, al contragolpe, creaba problemas a la defensa del equipo visitante.

El partido cambió en la primera acción de la segunda parte y en el primer balón que tocó Higuaín. Fue un centro desde la izquierda de Torres que el recién incorporado devolvió de primeras al centro del área para que Van der Vaart empatara el encuentro.

Al Real Madrid no le sentó bien el gol. El Villarreal adelantó líneas y recuperó el dominio que no había tenido en el primer tiempo. En esa tesitura, Cani agarró un balón suelto en el área y logró el 2-1 con un potente disparo.

Tras el gol, el Villarreal durante algunos minutos tuvo a su merced al Real Madrid y Capdevila estrelló un balón en el larguero (m.66). Pero a dos del final llegó el empate, logrado por Higuaín en una acción en la que los jugadores locales reclamaron el fuera de juego de tres futbolistas del equipo madrileño. Sin embargo, un minuto después, en un córner, Capdevila marcó el 3-2 ante el delirio del Madrigal.

Natterfrost

Commenting on the album, Nattefrost said, “‘Opfergang’ has been recorded in pain, and was wrenched straight out of hell. The end-result will be the most brutal Nattefrost album to date.”

NATTEFROST recently featured on the “Fossegrim” track for the new EP from Norway’s KVELERTAK, and collaborated with fellow black metal legend Fenriz on a split album released in early June on Indie Recordings. The album, produced by Vrangsinn and Rabbagast, and entitled “Engangsgrill”, contains three tracks of stoner rock from FENRIZ’ RED PLANET and five tracks of previously unreleased, or rare and difficult to find material, from Nattefrost himself. The track “Nekronaut II, Nekro Spirituals” from “Engangsgrill” can be heard on Nattefrost‘s MySpace page.

Herschel, the upper passenger, was the first to separate from the upper stage of the Ariane 5 at 15:38 CEST at an altitude of about 1150 km over the east coast of Africa. About 1.5 minutes later, the Sylda support structure that enclosed Planck came off and separated. It was followed by Planck at 15:40 CEST at an altitude of about 1700 km slightly East of the east coast of Africa.

The satellites switched on their attitude control and telecommunications systems right after separation, to re-orient themselves and establish contact with Earth for the first time from space. The signals were received by ESA’s 35-m deep space antenna at New Norcia in Australia.The mission control teams will continue to receive telemetry from Herschel via New Norcia, and for Planck via ESA’s antenna at Perth, also in Australia. Spacecraft Operations Engineers at the Mission Control Centre will use these data to assess the overall health of the satellites after launch.Almost immediately after telemetry reception starts, engineers will determine the actual trajectory of each satellite so that it can be fine-tuned for planned trajectory correction manoeuvres.

Herschel & Planck

From there, both spacecraft will begin a revolutionary observation campaign that will further our understanding of the history of the Universe. Herschel is a large far-infrared space telescope designed to study some of the coldest objects in space, in a part of the electromagnetic spectrum still mostly unexplored. Planck is a telescope that will map the fossil light of the Universe – light from the Big Bang – with unprecedented sensitivity and accuracy. The two missions are among the most ambitious ever carried out by Europe and mark the crossing of new frontiers in the field of space-based astronomy.

The pair will be lofted in tandem by an Ariane 5 ECA launcher. Lift-off is now scheduled for 15:12 CEST (13:12 GMT) on Thursday 14 May, from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. Herschel and Planck will separate shortly after launch and head independently towards the L2 Lagrangian point of the Sun-Earth system, a gravitational stability point suspended in space some 1.5 million kilometres from Earth in the opposite direction to the Sun. While orbiting around that point, they will be able to conduct continuous observations in a thermally-stable environment, far from radiation disturbance caused by the Sun, Earth and Moon.

The 7.5-m-tall, 4-m-wide Herschel is the largest infrared telescope ever launched. The extremely smooth surface of its 3.5-m-diameter primary mirror – made of lightweight silicon carbide – is almost one and a half times bigger than that of Hubble’s, and six times bigger than that of its predecessor ISO launched by ESA in 1995.

With its huge light-collection capability and set of sophisticated detectors cooled to the vicinity of absolute zero by over 2000 litres of superfluid helium, Herschel will look at the faintest and farthest infrared sources and peer into the as-yet uncharted far infrared and submillimetric parts of the spectrum.

Herschel will be able to see through the opacity of cosmic dust and gas and observe structures and events far away that date back to the early Universe – such as the birth and evolution of early stars and galaxies – ten thousand million years ago, in an effort to determine exactly how it all started. Closer by, within our galaxy, Herschel will also observe extremely cold objects, such as the clouds of dust and interstellar gases from which stars and planets are formed, and even the atmosphere around comets, planets and their moons in our own solar system.

Featuring a 1.5 m telescope and instruments sensitive to microwave radiation, Planck will measure temperature variations in the very early Universe. It will monitor the so- called Cosmic Microwave Background, the relic of the very first light ever emitted in space about 380 thousand years after the Big Bang, when the density and temperature of the young Universe had decreased enough to finally allow light to separate from matter and travel freely in space.

With its ‘heart’ operating at unprecedented low temperatures, Planck will deliver unrivalled sensitivity and resolution. By measuring the tiny fluctuations in the temperature of the microwave background radiation, scientists will extract at least 15 times more information about the Universe’s origin, evolution and future than with its most recent predecessor.

Herschel’s detectors will be cooled down to 0.3 degrees above absolute zero. Planck’s detectors will reach even colder temperatures, just 0.1 degrees above 0 K. Indeed, throughout the mission, the coldest points of the Universe may well be inside its payload. The satellite is planned to take some 500 thousand million of raw samples to produce a set of multi-million-pixel sky maps that will also help scientists to understand the Universe’s structure and account as never before for all of its constituents. Planck will be able to determine the total amount of atoms in the Universe, infer the total density of dark matter – an elusive component still inaccessible to direct observations but ‘visible’ through its effects on the surroundings – and even shed new light on the nature of the mysterious dark energy.

Herschel and Planck, two impressive missions designed to revolutionise our understanding of the cosmos, also represent a tremendous technological challenge that has been overcome by ESA thanks to the mobilising of over 100 industrial partners and institutes in Europe, the United States and elsewhere.

Attending the launch

The main launch event for Herschel/Planck will be held at ESOC, the Agency’s establishment in Darmstadt, Germany. There, ESA senior management and programme specialists will be on hand to give explanations and interviews

The Press Centre at ESOC will be open from 10:00 to 18:00 hours, hosting a media workshop from 11:00 to 12:15 hours and the launch event from 14:00 to 16:15 hours.

A live TV transmission of the launch will supply images from Kourou and from mission control at ESOC/Darmstadt to broadcasters (further details will soon be available at http://television.esa.int).
